Office Policies & Mission

Appointments

Please contact us to schedule your annual exams for preventative care 1-2 months in advance. If you are experiencing any problems, please contact us. We typically schedule these visits as soon as possible, depending on the urgency of the problem. For your convenience, our appointment reminder system will place a call two days prior to your appointment, to remind you of your scheduled exam. Please remember, we reserve your appointment time specifically for you. If you need to cancel your appointment, we request 24 hours notice, so that we can possibly give that time to another patient. We are aware that unforeseen events sometimes require missing an appointment. However, if you miss your second appointment and fail to notify us at least 24 hours in advance, you are subject to being charged an additional fee.

Office Visits

We make every effort to ensure your visits go as smoothly as possible. At your initial visit, please thoroughly complete your New Patient Packet, which you may also download from our website and complete prior to your appointment. We ask that you arrive 20 to 30 minutes before your appointment, so that we have adequate time to process your information. If you have important information from a previous doctor, please arrange to have a copy of this information sent to our office in advance.

A parent or legal guardian must accompany and stay with minors during their entire visit.

To ensure you enjoy a quality visit, please do not bring food or drinks, or electronic or musical devices, and silence cell phones.

Prescriptions

For your privacy and protection, Dr. Hew would like to see all patients requesting new prescriptions for an office visit. This office visit allows Dr. Hew to accurately diagnose your condition and monitor your health. For prescription refills, please contact the office during normal business hours with the following information: your name, your date of birth, name of the medication you are requesting and how it is taken, and the name and telephone number of your preferred pharmacy. Please allow 2-3 days for this to be completed.

Payment Options

We offer a variety of payment and financing options to accommodate your needs. Major credit cards are accepted.

If special arrangements are needed, please speak with our office administrator prior to receiving service.

Insurance

We are committed to helping you maximize your insurance benefits. Because insurance policies vary, we can only estimate your coverage in good faith, but cannot guarantee coverage due to the complexities of insurance contracts. We have a contractual relationship with several health plans and insurance companies. As a service to our patients, we’ll be glad to bill these companies for payment and allow them 60 days to render payment. If your insurance company has not made a payment after 90 days, you must pay the entire balance in full. Our staff is available to assist you if you have any questions.

Unless our office has a direct contract with your insurance plan, we cannot negotiate any claims. Regardless of the status of your claim, you, the patient are responsible for payment of your medical treatment. Your insurance plan is a contract between you and the company, not our office. Although we’ll be glad to file your claim, we cannot, under any circumstance guarantee payment. If your insurance company pays a portion of your costs or denies the claim, you must contact your insurance company for an explanation and/or questions. If your insurance company denies your claim or pays only a portion of your cost, you are still responsible for any financial obligation to our office.

Our office is a preferred provider. We accept the major insurances listed below. If your plan is not on the list, please contact us for verification. Please remember to bring your insurance card to each visit, so that we can accurately bill them for treatment. This will save you time and phone calls later. Your co-payment is due at the time of treatment. We accept all major credit cards.
